Vision/Hearing Screenings

ATTENTION ALL 1st, 3rd and 5th GRADE PARENTS!
The Vision and Hearing Screening Program, Ch.36 of the Texas Health and Safety
Code, requires that all 1st,3rd,and 5th grade children enrolled in public school must be screened
or have a professional examination for possible hearing and vision problems.

I will be conducting vision and hearing screenings during specials beginning in
September.If your student wears contacts or glasses it will be important they have those with
them throughout the screening process.

If a problem exists with either test your child will receive a second screening. If the problem is
still present after the second screening, a referral letter will be sent home recommending follow
up with a professional.
